The American skier, Gus Kenworthy, recently stole the hearts of people worldwide when he began an effort to save the stray puppies of Sochi. As you may know, Sochi planned on killing as many of the strays as possible before the games began, but thanks to the efforts of Russian billionare, Oleg Deripaska, several shelters were set up to help the poor puppies get a second chance at living their innocent lives.
Gus recently tweeted some adorable pics of himself cuddling with some strays that he found, and explaining his plans of vaccinating the pups and bringing as many as he can back to the USA to try and help find them homes. I’d like to personally give him the Gold medal for ‘Athlete With The Biggest Heart’ to add to his collection of medals, since he won a silver in free-style skiing yesterday!
I think it’s safe to say that we’re all on a constant search for good music, so I came up with a list of a few of my favorite artists that I have on my IPod that you might not have heard of yet!
1. Beach Fossils
The Beach Fossils are an American indie rock band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2009. If you’re into bands that sound like the Beatles, then you’ll love these boys!
2. Marina and the Diamonds
Okay, I know she’s not exactly “undiscovered,” but if you haven’t heard of her yet, you should definitely check out this powerhouse diva! Her music is meaningful, but totally dance-able, too!
3. The Arctic Monkeys
Myself being a fan of this band for years now, I’m kind of bittersweet about the recent fame they’re recieving. I know, I know; I should be happy for them, and I am! But, a part of me is sad that the band I fell in love with is slowly losing their title as my little secret! Regardless, you have to listen to them, no matter what genre of music you like.
4. All Time Low
Even though these boys are already way famous, they’re one of my favorite bands. If you’re into alternative pop/rock music, listen, obsess, and love these guys. I met them a few months ago, and they’re totally sweet guys, too!
5. Sky Ferreira
The grunge princess is an absolute must-have on anyone’s IPod. Her unique style and voice give an edge to all of her songs that are totally worth dying over!
6. Andrew Belle
I, personally, love Andrew Belle to the moon and back. He has a soft voice, beautiful lyrics, and makes wonderful music. I think that he will be gaining massive popularity very soon, so keep a lookout for him; he’s fantastic.
If you haven’t already seen the hilarious new video by the heart-throbbing boy band, then you should hover your mouse over the video and press play now! It’s yet another great music video to fit the band’s goofy and lovable personality. The boys never disappoint, and this is no exception.
With New York Fashion week quickly creeping up on my calendar, the need for style has never been more desperately coursing through my body. Lucky for me, as well as all other fashion lovers, Stockholm Fashion Week is currently unveiling tons and tons of designs that are worth dying for!
But, today, I’m going to throw it back to August when a Swedish designer, by the name of Ida Sjöstedt, slayed the entire fashion world with her top-notch designs.
A certain Canadian pop-singer by the name of Justin Bieber was the talk of the world with his DUI arrest in Miami, but unless you’ve succumbed to living underneath a rock, I’m sure you already knew about this headlining event. With his court trail coming up on Valentines’ Day, I can think of plenty of reasons why he would be dreading the otherwise joyful holiday.
But, staying on the topic of Valentines’ Day, love was in the air at the 2014 Grammys’ when Macklemore and Ryan Lewis stole the show with their amazing performance of “Same Love,” where they brought light to the topic of same-sex marriage and took a drastic step towards making our world a more equal place. While there were other amazing acts, like Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar’s amazing duet, the spirited rapper was definitely one of the most memorable acts. Disney Channel’s show, Good Luck Charlie, had the same idea and recently released the first ever episode of any children’s show to feature a couple of the same sex! Celebs such as Miley Cyrus were quick to praise the episode and the couple, who, if I do say so myself, were an awfully adorable pair!
On another note, sad news to all American Horror Story fans because the “Coven” season has officially come to an end! Have no fear, I won’t spoil the ending for you, (although, I must say, it was a piece of cinematic genius!) but if you haven’t seen it already, make sure to check it out! But, have no fear, because the new season will be back in October, and it will be circus themed! Unfortunately, I don’t think this will be the funny type of circus…
If you want something funny to watch, Ed Sheeran, Amber Rose, Waka Flocka, and Iggy Azalea recently teamed up and made a hilarious reenactment of Mean Girls that has already recieved a ton of attention all over the social media! Just another reason everyone loves the red-headed Brit, and now, his “mean” friends!
And, of course, you could watch the new One Direction teaser clips for their new music video of “Midnight Memories!” While the video will be up in a matter of hours now, I can’t wait another second! In the released clips, they’re shown causing chaos at a kabob shop, speeding on scooters, and hanging with the grandparents; it’s safe to say that when they said they were aiming for a more “mature” style, I didn’t expect them to release a music video with a ton of grandparents! But, of course, their spontaneous and care-free attitude is what makes them so great.
While there are way too many things for me to write about that happened this week, I do want to quickly mention the amazing “Full House” reunion that aired on Jimmey Fallon! Nothing beats seeing Bob Saget, John Stamos, and Dave Coulier acting as their original, lovable roles as Danny Tanner, Uncle Jesse, and Uncle Joey.
So, it was an eventful week, like I said. But, of course, in Hollywood, this is what you’d expect. Showbiz, right?
